I cannot call the UK from my phone number, no numbers I try work, and I cant find any help articles with this specific issue. Most people are asking how much it costs, or if you can call once you’re abroad, but I am in the Netherlands trying to call the UK. I cant find any setting to change, and I asked my Dutch fluent friends to help me and they couldn’t see anything in the app either.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Take a look at your Mijn Simpel (webpage). Is bellen naar het buitenland (calls foreign) blocked? And did you perhaps choose for Simpel ceiling (plafond)?
